## Overview

### Refined Sites

- Displaying your Confluence content on a website provides the ultimate end-user experience for external use cases. Users won’t know they’re in Confluence and think they’re on an extension of your own site – which makes navigation instantly intuitive.

### Scroll Viewport

- Publishing your Confluence content on a website makes it easier to consume.
- Tool for public sites: users can’t log in to their Atlassian accounts to access restricted content.
- Publishing doesn’t happen automatically, which can involve a lot of manual work for pages that have to be updated regularly, such as release logs.
- Limited styling and customizability options compared to Refined Sites (see the tables below).
- Limited options to integrate JSM, it’s only possible to add a widget.

- In-Confluence app makes it suitable for intranets.
- Doesn’t integrate with Jira Service Management.

### Conclusion

Refined Sites is the best option for external use cases (support desk, help site, documentation site, knowledge base), because you can apply your brand to your content - users won’t see they’re looking at Confluence content at all. Plus it is much easier to find and navigate content than in native Confluence.

Compared to Scroll Viewport, which also lets you create external sites, Refined Sites stands out in terms of customizability, especially on landing pages. 

Mantra and Cosmos stand out as in-Confluence intranet solutions. ### Customizable landing pages
